The question everyone asks
The honest answer is that the risk is low but not zero, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling. Here is what we actually know, what we do about it, and what remains yours to decide.
We are not aware of SEEK running a public enforcement programme against job seekers who use application tools, and no Shigoto AI user has reported a ban to us. That is genuinely reassuring, and it is also not a guarantee.
SEEK's terms of use restrict automated access to the site. We would rather you read them than take our summary of them — they are on seek.com.au. Using any tool in this category, ours included, means accepting some residual risk to your account. We cannot remove that risk, and neither can anyone else in this market.
Why we say this out loud
Every competitor has the same exposure and most of them phrase it as a reassurance. We would rather you make the decision with the real picture, because if it goes wrong it is your job hunt, not ours.
In practice it is volume and pattern, not the mere existence of a tool. The behaviours that stand out to automated systems and to recruiters are the same ones:
Two things we cannot do for you.
Volume. One hundred applications a day is available on Pro. That does not mean it is wise every day. A focused fifty to a filtered list will serve you better than a hundred scattered across roles you do not want, and it looks more like a person conducting a job search — because it is one.
Review. Pro includes approval mode, which shows you each application before it is sent. Use it for the first run at least. You are responsible for what goes out under your name, and reading the first few letters is how you find out whether the tool represents you well.
Account bans are the fear people arrive with. The more common failure is quieter: an application that misrepresents you, reaching a recruiter who reads it carefully. A fabricated "yes" to a licence question does not get your account closed — it gets you into an interview you cannot hold up in, or onto a quiet do-not-call list at an agency you would like to work with again.
That is the reason Shigoto AI will leave a question unanswered rather than guess at it. It makes the product marginally less automatic and considerably less likely to embarrass you.
The free plan exists so you can watch what it sends before you decide whether to trust it with more. No card required.
This page describes how our product is built and is not legal advice. Your use of SEEK is governed by SEEK's own terms, which can change. Read them, and make your own call.
