Common questions

Can you auto-apply to jobs on SEEK?

Not with SEEK itself — there is no bulk-apply button, and there never has been. You need a third-party tool. Below are the questions people ask before choosing one, answered plainly.

Does SEEK have a bulk apply feature?

No. SEEK gives you saved searches and job alerts, and Quick Apply shortens a single application. Nothing applies to many roles at once. That gap is the entire reason auto-apply tools exist in the Australian market — and it is also why the international tools, built around US boards, mostly do not help here.

So how does auto-applying work?

A tool opens each matching listing and completes the application for you. Shigoto AI does this as a Chrome extension: it works through your own browser session, fills the form from your résumé and profile, writes a cover letter for that specific role, answers the screening questions, and submits. Every application is logged so you can see what went out.

Do auto-applied applications actually get read?

They arrive in the recruiter's list like any other SEEK application — there is no marker identifying them. Whether they are taken seriously comes down to content. Australian recruiters read cover letters, and a letter written against the actual ad reads nothing like a template with the company name substituted in. Volume without tailoring is what gets ignored, and that is true whether a human or a tool produced it.

Do I need to leave my computer running?

Only while a run is happening, and only the browser. This is where extensions and desktop apps differ: most SEEK auto-apply tools in Australia are desktop applications that need installing and need the machine awake. Shigoto AI is a Chrome extension, so there is no installer and nothing extra to keep open.

Does it work on LinkedIn too? What about Indeed?

Yes. SEEK Australia, LinkedIn Easy Apply and Indeed Apply are all supported. Jobs that send you to the employer's own website are skipped.

How much does it cost?

Shigoto AI is free for five applications a day, ongoing, with no card required. Pro is A$15 a month for one hundred a day, plus approval mode and exclusion keyword filters. For context, comparable Australian tools generally sit between A$25 and A$35 a month — we compare them side by side here.

Will the cover letters be generic?

Each one is generated against that job description and your own résumé, so the requirements and phrasing of the specific ad appear in it. It is not a template with fields swapped. You can read them before they send — approval mode on Pro shows each application first.

Does it answer screening questions honestly?

It answers from your résumé and profile. Where your own material does not support an answer, it does not invent one, which means the occasional question comes back to you. This is a deliberate constraint: a fabricated "yes" to a licence or visa question does more damage than a missed application.

Does it need my SEEK password?

No. It runs in the browser session you are already signed in to. It never asks for and never stores your SEEK or LinkedIn credentials.

Is it risky for my account?

Low risk, but not zero, and we would rather say so. SEEK's terms restrict automated access, so every tool in this category carries residual exposure. What matters far more than the tool is volume and pattern. The full answer is here, including what we do about it and what stays your call.
